Why garment remodelling matters
At Kourou Stitchworks, garment remodelling starts with the fabric, the construction, and the way the piece is meant to be worn. Some garments are ideal for a clean fit update, while others need a more creative approach to bring out their best shape and function.
We work with dresses, skirts, shirts, jackets, and selected vintage pieces, always checking what the existing material can realistically support. If a project depends on limited seam allowance, worn fabric, or missing structure, we explain those limits before the work is approved.
Keep the pieces you love, wear them in a new way.
A thoughtful redesign can refresh a garment without losing its character.
Upcycling is especially useful when a garment still has strong sections that can be reused in a new design. That may mean changing the silhouette, reworking details, or turning usable fabric into a new accessory piece with a practical finish.
Every project follows a clear process: inquiry, assessment, redesign consultation, scope and quote, approval, remodelling, and a final fit or finish review. If additional work becomes necessary, it is only carried out after approval, so the agreed design stays in view from start to finish.
